New Stuff

The weather has been ccccoooooollld... brrrr. It is now 6 degrees outside. But today and yesterday it warmed up to 35-40 which is now warmer to us believe it or not. Above freezing is good. Here are a couple pics of our new place and of Hopey. We are still doing well. I have joined a Trinity Wives Fellowship group on Monday nights and I am really enjoying it. We are studying Colossians and it has been good. Colossians 1:9-10 has been a great prayer for me to focus on for myself and for others.
On another note, is anyone else excited about the season premire of Lost on Thursday night?!

Hope on our balcony.

The view of our car from our window.

Hope enjoying our new couch.

Hope's room.

Out on a walk.

Bahers at Cracker Barrel. We know the Bahers from Valley Baptist in Bakersfield. So nice to have them only 2 hours away from us now!

After receiving some snow clothes in the mail from cousin Jason and Jen, Hope REALLY wanted to try them both on at the same time, so here it is. It's sweet how she enjoys dress up so much already.

Music

Okay, so I know I'm about 10 years behind, but I just started downloading songs on iTunes. I was really into illegally downloading songs on Napster in college, but we all know what happened with that phase (it became illegal!). I got a gift card for iTunes for Christmas and I need some help. How do I pick from the plethora of music out there? Please direct me to your favorite gems. I like a lot of kinds of music, just not hard rock or rap. I'm kind of sappy too. So, please, give me your favorites. Even those of you who don't usually comment. I'm happy to investigate all recommendations. Thanks :)

Goodbyes, Hellos and Other Stuff

We made it. We are here in Chicagoland, and we are happy. Mark started classes on Wednesday and is really enjoying them. We like our schedule and the friendly atmosphere of the school. I finally opened the box with the camera cord in it last night, so here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks.

December 16th was our last Sunday at Farmdale Baptist Church. Mark preached in the am and pm services, and then they had a nice reception for us after evening church. The cake was really good :) We will miss our friends there. They are really sweet people.

Hope with one of her favorite Christmas presents. She loves that stoller.

Hope and Aunty Robin. We had a very good visit to So Cal for Christmas. Thank you to my family for making everything so nice and for being so good to us! We got to see some friends too, but not everybody. I am sorry I missed some of you! Obviously I didn't get very many good pictures over Christmas, since I am only posting one!

This is a picture of many of my girlfriends from Louisville. We had a goodbye lunch at Ernestos, and it was a fun time. Whenever you make new friends in the seminary community, you know it will most likely be only for a short time. But this doesn't make goodbyes any easier! From left to right: Lori, Krisiti, Me, Suzie, Julie, and Jaimie. Both Kristi and Suzie are planning on adopting from Ethiopia this year! Very exciting.

Mark's parents came to help us with the move and we are thankful. We had nice warm 50 degree weather to move in with, and it has not gotten too scary cold yet. Hope and I even walked around the campus yesterday. No pictures of the new place yet, but hopefully soon. Hope's contributions to the packing process looked much like this. She has transitioned well - she seems to not notice there is any difference in her life at all - except for that annoying molar that is coming in.

Thanks for reading and for keeping in touch. Happy New Year!
